PERSONAL PROFILE

Charismatic and dedicated early-career Lecturer with a robust academic background in the Performing Arts, committed to inspiring and supporting students in higher education. Completing a Practice-as-Research PhD and was recently awarded an Associate Fellowship from Advance HE, bringing a fresh, research-informed perspective to the classroom. This approach integrates innovative research, technology, and active learning strategies to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.

I am passionate about fostering critical thinking and academic curiosity, prioritising accessibility and individualised academic support to empower students, particularly those with additional access needs. Through leading seminars, discussion groups, and practical sessions, as well as designing and delivering engaging lectures. Known for a student-centred, dynamic teaching style, emphasising active participation and real-world applications of course concepts.

My research spans post-climate emergency cultures, performer-audience dynamics, autobiographical performance, and ritual performance art. Published in the Journal of Arts and Communities, I have presented papers on themes such as digital media during the pandemic, homelessness in art, more-than-human climate relations, and critical performance analysis. I am eager to incorporate these insights into my teaching, enhancing students’ understanding and exploration of contemporary issues in the arts.
