An episodic comic book documenting several research enquiries in Druidry, Art-Magic, William Blake, Alan Morre, Myth, and the power of place. Noviomagus Reginorum is a re-mythologisation of the sleepy town of Chichester, West Sussex. The comic’s title is derived from Chichester’s Roman name translated as New Market Kingdom, or even as New Magic Kingdom.

Following the adventurers of the anachronistic Bard who weaves a tale of historical and magical undoing that leeches out of the page into our own reality. The comic draws extensively from Alan Moore’s comic book Promethea, and his novel Jerusalem which re-mythologises his own native Northampton. This research document is developed as part of the practice-as-research PhD On Art-Magic: Socio-Ecological Interventions within ‘The Culture of Steam’.
