Undertaking the Bardic Grade of The Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, this research-based practice embeds the researcher within the ritualistic practice of modern Druidry as a means of gaining what French philosopher Henri Bergson describes as an ‘intuition’ of the subject. Understanding it from within. Over three years the researcher will undertake the lessons or Gwersi offered by the order and document the understandings gained from the process through a series of reflective texts, images, recordings, ritual performances, and walking expeditions. 

This research practice is developed as part of the practice-as-research PhD On Art-Magic: Socio-Ecological Interventions within ‘The Culture of Steam’.
